OUR RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE DESIGN FRAMEWORK
iN A NUTSHELL OUR DESIGN PROCESS FLOWS LIKE THIS:
You schedule a time to talk over the phone HERE so we can answer the question: Are we the best the fit?
Through the conversation I will be able to understand your objectives and whether I have the expertise to meet your needs. If so, the first step is an onsite consultation. I will send you a detailed consultation questionnaire to be filled out before the consult. This ensures you get the most out of the consultation. Consultations last 1-1.5 hours, and are a $100 for most homes.
2. SITE CONSULTATION - ONSITE EDUCATION
With your questionnaire in hand I will visit your site. We will go over the questionnaire, explore your goals and walk the yard and discuss potential design ideas and site issues. If you feel we are a good fit we will come to an agreement on whether it makes sense to move forward with creating a design.
To proceed with the design process I will create a design agreement detailing goals / proposed budget, deliverables and the level of design required to achieve the desired results.
3. SITE ANALYSIS - THE REALITIES
Upon signing of the design agreement I will schedule a time to revisit the site for measuring and site analysis. Depending on the level of detail needed for the project, a yard survey is often required to begin this phase. I will put together a site analysis that looks at the different ecological (sun, soil, water, slope, etc.) systems (including human) that affect your yard.
At this time I will send you a Houzz idea board so you can find pictures that best reflect your vision. We want your yard to feel the way you want!
4.CONCEPTUAL PHASE - THE POTENTIALS
Back in the office with the site analysis data and to-scale site map I will create the conceptual design. We will then setup a time to go over the conceptual design.
In the conceptual meeting larger design themes and placement of elements are explored, presented and evaluated.
4. PRELIMINARY PHASE - WORK + REWORK
Considering feedback from the conceptual meeting I will then dive deeper into the details. This involves defining the exact locations of elements/plants, material choices and plant selection. We will then setup a time to present the final design.
5. FINAL DESIGN - PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
The final design is then presented including a complete plant and material list. During this meeting we will discuss the preliminary cost estimation and how the installation would be implemented. Also discussed is how to take care of the landscape post installation. If desired, the installation can be implemented in phases to help with expenses.
If additional drawings such as grading plans, three-dimensional renderings, construction documents, lighting plans are wanted, this can be added for a separate design charge.
6. INSTALL ESTIMATE
After the final landscape design presentation I will put together a detailed installation estimate. Once we receive the signed installation contract and deposit I can reserve an installation date.
7. INSTALL - FROM PAPER TO REALITY
Craftsmanship is our passion.
We have the pleasure of working with some of the best local carpenters, masons, horticulturalists, and designers to bring the highest quality to our installations.
