We specialize in natural stone and permeable hardscapes, including flagstone and crushed stone patios, fire pit areas, natural stone steps, garden paths, dry-laid retaining walls, boulder walls and features, hillside terracing, and paver patios. We design hardscapes to feel as though they belong in a landscape, working together with the grading, drainage, plantings, architecture, and your goals for the property.
Many of our projects address challenging sites, such as steep slopes, uneven terrain, drainage issues, or underused areas of a property. We use hardscaping to improve access, stabilize and connect different parts of the landscape, manage slopes and stormwater, and create inviting outdoor living spaces that feel integrated with the surrounding environment.

Timeless Materials that Last for Generations
We specialize in natural stone and permeable hardscapes, though we will work with pavers and modular materials when appropriate. Our goal is always for the finished hardscape to feel as though it belongs in the landscape rather than appearing as a separate feature that was simply placed on top of it.
There is a sense of timelessness that comes from using natural stone. You know the material will be there for generations. The hardscape elements built today may someday be used by your grandchildren’s children. In that sense, hardscaping is an investment in the future enjoyment of a landscape just as much as it is in the present.
Several members of our team have trained with the Dry Stone Conservancy in Lexington, Kentucky to learn the craft of traditional dry-laid wall construction. Whenever possible, we avoid relying on mortar in natural-stone walls because mortar will inevitably crack and require repairs over time. A properly constructed dry-laid wall is designed to flex, drain, and settle naturally while remaining durable for generations.
Fire pit areas are often integrated into crushed-stone or flagstone patios and surrounded by native plantings for privacy, shade, and a sense of enclosure.
Pathways improve circulation and invite exploration through gardens and wooded spaces. We design paths made from flagstone or crushed stone.
Patios provide intimate gathering, dining, or lounge areas that can be made from flagstone, pavers, or permeable crushed stone.
Retaining walls are especially useful for managing Cincinnati-area hillsides, stabilizing slopes, reducing erosion, and creating planting or gathering areas on slopes.
Permeable patios, dry creek beds, and other hardscape elements can help slow, redirect, or absorb stormwater to improve drainage in your landscape.
We specialize in designing hardscaping for steep slopes, small urban yards, underused lawns, and awkward leftover spaces that need hardscaping, grading, and plantings to work together.
Boulder walls provide structure and grade control without looking overly formal or disjointed from the landscape.
Retaining walls and terracing provide structure and grade control while integrating with the landscape.
