New Life

A landscape that had faded away from years of neglect and deer pressure was revitalized in this Oakley backyard.  Goals included covering up an unsightly neighbors fence, having native plants with multi season interest and sighting where an outdoor swing could be located. I was able to utilize native shrubs in a way that will create a sense of enclosure and privacy, yet leave plenty of room for play.

These bottlebrush buckeyes will grow to fill this entire back edge in an airy, but dense hedge. They will also attract beneficial wildlife like hummingbirds and butterflies with their 'bottlebrush' like flowers in June/July.
